Dressing well often means coordinating colours, patterns, and textures to achieve a cohesive balance. However, if you are like me, there will be days where you wake up in the morning with zero desire to throw together breakfast, let alone pulling together an ensemble with matching and balance in mind.
On days like this, a bold overcoat such as the one pictured is the perfect remedy (not for the lethargy, obviously, but for the lack of swag). It provides comprehensive coverage for the upper torso, and a clean and classic silhouette; it also absolves one from the responsibility of having to make finicky decisions and nuanced distinctions at 6:30 in the morning.
As long as the coat is well kept and well fitted, this particular look is actually quite difficult to screw up - all you really need is a respectable pair of denim and a soporific sweater. And smile, that always helps.
